In a powerful display of compassion and community impact, Basic Life Support Foundation (BLSF) has once again proven its commitment to healthcare accessibility by organizing a free eye screening program in the Twifo Praso community of the Atti Morkwa District, Central Region, Ghana. This initiative, part of the foundation’s annual outreach project, brought critical eye care services to the doorstep of underserved residents.
Held in collaboration with local health professionals and volunteers, the screening saw an impressive turnout, with 473 individuals benefiting from free eye checkups, reading glasses, and essential medications.
What made the program even more remarkable was BLS Foundation’s holistic approach to care. Beyond just diagnosis, the foundation provided free meals, and medications for all cataract patients, ensuring that economic barriers would not stand in the way of restored vision.
“We believe that no one should suffer from preventable blindness simply because they can’t afford treatment,” said a representative from Basic Life Foundation. “Our goal is not just to treat, but to empower people to live fully and independently.”
The event was met with deep gratitude and hope from the local community. For many, it was their first time receiving any form of eye care.
With projects like these, Basic Life Support Foundation continues to shine a light—literally and figuratively—on the importance of accessible healthcare, transforming lives one vision at a time.
